My name is Amy Beth.
First and foremost, I am a Born Again Christian who was saved by
the blood of Jesus Christ. I live in the Smoky Mtns. with my
husband of almost 14 years, Tracy, and our three children (along
with a dog and a few pet rocks.)
Photography has been a passion of mine since I was a teenager. I remember how excited I was when I got my first real job, because I had money to pay to have my pictures developed! A couple of years ago, my husband bought me my first digital camera, a KodakEasy Share DX4530. I loved that little camera. I began photographing everything under the sun. Well, not everything. Mostly I photographed my family, nature, and landscapes.
Shortly after that, I discovered blogging and then photoblogging. This opened up a whole new world to me. I began posting some of my pictures for family and friends to see. Soon, I began receiving many favorable comments about my pictures. (Not just from family and friends). People started requesting calendars and prints of my images. People actually liked my work. After that, I started getting more serious about my photography, and soon discovered that it was truly a gift from God. Now I have my dream camera, a Nikon D50. I am still learning how to use all the bells and whistles, and I am having a great time doing it.
In the last several months, friends began asking me to do family portraits, and portraits of their children. This is something I always dreamed of doing, but I wasn't sure about my skills. Sure, I was pleased with the photographs I took of my children, but I wondered if others would be equally pleased. I prayed for several months, seeking God's will. After many months of doubting His answer, God opened the door, and began sending people through it. Now I am on my way. God indeed grants us the desires of our hearts! And for that, I am very thankful.
Please keep in mind, this endeavor is a never ending work in progress. Since I am self-taught, I am always looking to improve my skills. I hope you visit often and join me on this journey as I learn new skills and techniques.
I find so much inspiration living here in the Smoky Mtns. Most of the time I need look no further than my own backyard to see the awesome beauty of God’s Creation. Whether it be a child sleeping or playing outdoors or a beautiful sunset, I try to capture some of that beauty through my photography. While I don’t believe that the camera can capture all the beauty of God’s creation, I hope to give you just a glimpse of God’s beauty the way I see it. I pray that you will be blessed and inspired through these images.
